Madd-Saac 2013

We are all so excited as we continue growing what has been envisioned to be a creative and unique, emotional, yet encouraging and very family oriented event; as the loss of any child is not something that impacts one sole individual, it impacts whole families and entire communities. We are looking forward to developing strong bonds with more businesses and organizations as well as reaching as many families, friends and individuals that have suffered a loss, as we can, to create and maintain an AMAZING annual event that grows every year!

This year's MADD-SAAC 5K for Pregnancy and Infant Loss will be held at Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013. Registration for the Event will be $25.00 for adults. Register for the 2nd Annual MADD-SAAC 5K for Pregnancy and Infant Loss HERE. Those that attended MADD-SAAC last year may notice some changes this year, but all changes made were only for the benefit of MADD-SAAC, it's participants and our bittersweet, yet growing cause. The Event will open at 4:00 p.m. and the 5K itself will kick off the evening's Schedule of Events at 5:30 p.m. The 5K will be followed by our Children's Run for ages 11 and under, Memorial Ceremony including participation with the global candle lighting called 'Wave of Light' over 7:00 p.m. and ending with an awesome raffle!! We will again have the services of a amazing DJ at the Event, as well as a Professional Photographer. We are also planning on an amazing Children's Area including Face Painting, a Balloon Artist and Lee's Summit Fire Department with a fire truck for the kiddies to check out! We will do our best to keep you updated with all of the newest information!!

In an effort to ease traffic during our Open Registration the day of the Event, from 4:00-5:15 p.m., we will be partnering with Stephanie Tillman and her {HOPE}station to bring you our new {HOPE}raisers Packet Pick-Up Event on Saturday, October 12th, 2013 from Noon-4:00 p.m., location TBA. At this special pre-event Packet Pick-Up, once you get your packet, you will have the opportunity to join others participating in MADD-SAAC 2013 and share your stories, journeys, refreshments and music, as well as have the opportunity to personalize your T-Shirt with Sharpies provided.

About Kansas City's Inaugural MADD-SAAC 5K for Pregnancy and Infant Loss (2012) :

Our first annual was no thousand fundraiser by any means, but it was a huge success! MADD-SAAC was held on Monday, October 15th, 2012 at Grandview High School in Grandview, Missouri. Registration for the Event was $27.00 for adults and if you had children participating in Aubrey's Amble, there were two age ranges; 1-5 and 6-11. Registration for Aubrey's Amble was $7.00. Once the deadline had passed to guarantee your free T-shirt, T-shirts were given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We held a packet pick-up at Gary Gribbles Running Store on Sunday, October 14th, 2012 from Noon-4:30 p.m. If you were unable to pick-up your packet on Sunday, you were given an opportunity to pick it up the day of the event from 4:00-5:15 p.m. You were also able to do a walk-up registration at either of these pick-up's if you missed registration.

At our first annual, we had youth volunteers from Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scouts manned our hydration stations to give water to our runners and Girl Scouts did hair and face painting and played games with kids at our Children's Area. Our Children's Area is one place we are looking to broaden our "family-friendly" atmosphere for our participants this year. As well as adding some food and/or drink vendors in addition to our complimentary water and refreshments.
